PayPal FAQs

Terms
In order to redeem your rewards for purchases made through the PayPal pay with rewards program ("Pay with Rewards"), your Rewards account must be enrolled through PayPal, and your card account must be in good standing. By paying with your Rewards when you make a purchase using PayPal, you agree to these terms and conditions (the “PayPal Pay with Rewards Terms and Conditions” or the “Agreement”). You authorize and request Elan Financial Services to provide PayPal, Inc. and/or its affiliates (“PayPal”) the information about your Rewards balance associated with your Card account, including if your account number or other information changes.
All Pay with Rewards redemptions are subject to the terms of your Cardmember Agreement and Rewards Program Rules in the Rewards Center. Pay with Rewards is only available for eligible purchases with certain merchants. PayPal or Elan Financial Services may limit, suspend, or terminate your ability to redeem Rewards at any time, in accordance with this Agreement. We reserve the right to stop providing Pay with Rewards at any time.
Your Rewards balance will be linked to your PayPal account using the Card account enrolled in Pay with Rewards. Rewards from multiple Card accounts or multiple rewards programs at PayPal cannot be aggregated for a single order and purchases will be paired with the credit card associated with the rewards program purchase. If your Card account is linked to a PayPal account that is not your own, or you allow others to access your PayPal account in which you have enrolled your card, your Rewards balance will be displayed, and your Rewards will be available for their use.
Elan Financial Services will debit the Rewards amount that you have elected to redeem for your purchase from your Rewards balance when the transaction is processed. If your available Rewards balance changes or becomes unavailable before your payment is processed, or if you modify your final checkout purchase amount, your PayPal transaction may fail to process, a lesser amount of Rewards may be used, or no Rewards may be used. There is no fee to redeem your Rewards with PayPal. If you do not have enough Rewards, you must pay for the remainder of your purchase with the Card account from which the Rewards were applied.
Purchases made with Rewards will be subject to the merchant and/or PayPal’s standard return policies. Generally, for fully canceled or refunded transactions, the Rewards portion of your original transaction will be refunded to your Rewards balance and the card-funded portion will be refunded to your Card account. PayPal or the merchant from which the Rewards purchase was made may determine to credit the return to the other payment methods used for the applicable purchase before crediting rewards to your Rewards account when processing a cancelation or refund. Items that may not be purchased using Pay with Rewards include, but are not limited to peer-to-peer transfers, recurring billing and non-US Dollar transactions. PayPal’s terms and conditions apply.

If you no longer want to see or use rewards through PayPal, you can turn this feature off through the PayPal app. To do this, first find your card in the PayPal app by going to Settings > Banks and Cards. Then, select your rewards program (the name of this will vary from card to card) and select the option to stop using those rewards with your card.
Alternatively, removing a card from your PayPal account will remove its affiliated rewards programs.
If you’ve previously turned off the ability to see and use your rewards through PayPal, you can always turn the feature on again by removing and re-adding your card to your PayPal account.
If you see a charge from PayPal that you didn’t authorize, or believe you were charged an incorrect amount, you can open a dispute in PayPal by going to PayPal.com/disputes. Alternatively, you may open a dispute when viewing the details of the related charge in PayPal. To do this, find the charge you want to dispute and select "Report a problem".
Once a dispute has been opened, PayPal will communicate with you and the disputed vendor until a resolution is reached. This process can typically take up to 30 days from the date the dispute is started.
